I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way that thou shalt go. I will guide thee with Mine eye — Psalm 32:8
Father in Heaven, we turn our hearts to Thee as the source of life, and truth and love. We do not claim Thy constant bounty because of merits we possess, but in Christ, the Savior’s name, we seek Thy favor.
Give us our daily fare today — the food from heaven for bodies spent; manna for the mind; and more than all, we crave the Bread of Life to make us strong of heart and pure of soul.
Teach us to love our fellow men as Thou doest love, forgiving those who treat us ill, and giving help and hope to those who need our aid. Let not temptation come too great to bear. Give us abundant grace to do the appointed task with cheerful heart and ever ready hand.
And when the shadows of the night have come, grant that Thy presence we may feel, as One Who in the day has walked with us. In Thy dear name we pray. Amen.
